# Create Account

**Auth:** required (scopes: account_manage)

Request to create a new Options trading account

**Endpoint:** `POST /trading/v1/options/accounts`

Returns `200 OK` with existing account data if an identical account already exists; `201 Created` for a new account.

**Status codes:** 200, 201, 400, 401, 403, 500, 504

Public market data needs no auth. Authenticated trading uses an OTP URL (issued from a REST call with your Bearer token — OAuth 2.0 or PAT; PAT auth also sends `Deriv-App-ID`), then connect to that URL and send messages directly.
